All 9 photographs

The Santorini photo-spots private tour is 4 hours with one of Greece Private Tours' drivers and no photographer: six of the island's most photographed places, Oia, the blue-domed church of Firostefani, the Akrotiri lighthouse, Red Beach, the Prophet Elias monastery and a winery above the caldera, with the driver waiting at each and taking your pictures on your own phone. Priced per group from the 4-hour rate card.

Which spots, and in what order?

Six stops with 116 min of driving without traffic, routed on OpenStreetMap from the top of the Fira cable car: 13 min and 10.8 km to Oia, 35 minutes in the lanes; 16 min and 13.2 km back down the rim to the blue-domed church of Firostefani, ten minutes; 25 min and 16.9 km to the south for the Akrotiri lighthouse, a quarter of an hour on the cape; 11 min and 5.8 km to Red Beach, a quarter of an hour on the path above it; 26 min and 13.5 km up to the Prophet Elias monastery on the island’s highest point; 13 min and 5.4 km to a winery with a caldera view, a quarter of an hour, with a tasting optional and paid there; then 12 min and 9 km back to Fira. That is 1 h 45 min at the stops and just under two hours on the road, with about twenty minutes in hand. The order follows the light for a morning start; for an afternoon start the driver runs it the other way round, and any stop can be swapped within the four hours.

A driver, not a photographer

Your driver knows where to stand at each spot, waits with the vehicle while you walk, and takes pictures of you with your own phone; that is the whole of the offer, and the price is a car and driver’s, not a photographer’s. For a professional shoot with a photographer and edited pictures, our sister brand Santorini Photography Tour does that, on its own site and at its own prices; a private tour with a flying dress shoot is its own page. None of the six stops charges an entrance fee, so there are no tickets to time.

Steps, shade, toilets and lunch

For cruise guests the climb comes before the tour, the cable car or the 587 steps from the old port on the port authority’s count. No official page states the steps in the lanes of Oia, the shade at the lighthouse or the toilets at Red Beach, so ask your driver at each stop; that orientation is part of the job, and the vehicle is air-conditioned with bottled water in it. Lunch is not planned into four hours: if you would rather eat than climb the monastery hill, say so when you book and the stop becomes lunch at your own expense, with the driver waiting and the minutes coming out of the four hours.

What does it cost for our group?

300 EUR for up to three guests in a sedan and 400 EUR for four to seven in a minivan, which is 100 EUR each when four share it; from eight guests the rate is per person in a minibus, as the table above prints it from the office’s rate card, the same card as every 4-hour tour of ours. Paid to the driver on the day after the office confirms by email; nothing is paid on the site. Extra and paid on the spot: the tasting if you take it, anything you eat, and the cable car for cruise guests at 10 EUR (checked 8 Oct 2026, santorinicablecar.gr) one way.

Where do we meet, and does it fit a cruise call?

At the exit of the cable car’s top station for cruise guests, with a sign with your name, or at your hotel, villa or any other point on the island. From a ship the tour needs a call of four hours plus the margin we keep before all-aboard, and the booking form checks your ship’s times against it; the cruise port page has the two landing points. For the same island with Akrotiri and the beaches in place of the lighthouse, the 5-hour tour; for Oia at sunset, the Oia page prints the time by date.

Questions guests ask

Is a photographer included?

No: the driver takes pictures of you with your own phone and knows where to stand. For a professional shoot with a photographer, Santorini Photography Tour, a partner we recommend, does that on its own site; a day built around a flying dress shoot has its own page here.

Morning or afternoon?

Either, within the booking window; the order of the stops follows the light for a morning start and the driver runs it the other way round in the afternoon.

Can we add Akrotiri or a beach?

Not inside four hours with all six spots; drop one, or take the 5-hour tour, which has Akrotiri, Red Beach and Perivolos with short stops.

Does it fit a cruise call?

It needs a call of four hours plus the margin we keep before all-aboard, printed on the card above; the driver waits at the exit of the cable car's top station.

What does it cost?

The 4-hour price of the rate card, per group up to seven guests and per person from eight, printed above; the tasting, food and the cable car are extra.
