Greece Private Tours runs private tours in Athens with its own drivers: a 4-hour highlights tour, full days, half and full days to Cape Sounion and Ancient Corinth, day trips to Delphi, Nafplio and Meteora, and a Jewish heritage morning by request. Every tour is priced per group or quoted, and the driver meets you at your hotel, the Piraeus cruise terminals or the airport.

What does a private tour in Athens cost?

The 4-hour highlights tour is 300 EUR for up to three guests in a sedan and 400 EUR for four to seven in a minivan, which is 100 EUR each when four share it. The 5-hour days to Cape Sounion or to Ancient Corinth start at 400 EUR, and the full days in the city, or combined with Sounion or Corinth, at 700 EUR. Delphi, the Argolis and Meteora, longer than eight hours, take the same 8-hour table, the longest on the card, so a day trip for up to three guests is 700 EUR whatever its hours; the price guide for Greece prints the whole card. From eight guests every tour is priced per person in a minibus or a coach. Entrance fees are paid at the gate, the Acropolis at 30 EUR (checked 8 Oct 2026, hh.gr), and a licensed guide is quoted separately on request.

Driver or licensed guide at the Acropolis?

Both have a place. Our driver brings you to the entrance of the Acropolis, does not enter the site, and waits with the vehicle for as long as you need; guiding inside is the work of state-licensed guides under Law 5121/2024, so if you want the Parthenon explained rather than seen, we add a licensed guide on request and quote the guide with your day. On the Jewish heritage morning the Jewish Community of Athens’s own guide shows you its synagogues. Tickets are timed: an online ticket is for a chosen date and a one-hour entry slot, sold on the official ticket site, so tell us the slot you hold and the day is built around it. A lift for visitors with mobility difficulties runs from a separate entrance north of the main one, reached by a path of about 350 m, and the guards’ office asks for a phone call before you arrive.

The highlights, a full day, the coast, Corinth or a day trip?

The 4-hour highlights tour is the Acropolis with an hour and three quarters inside, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the changing of the guard at Syntagma, with only 47 minutes of driving in the whole morning. The full day in Athens takes six stops at a walking pace. Cape Sounion is a 5-hour run down the coast road to the Temple of Poseidon and back, and Ancient Corinth a 5-hour day across the canal; each has an 8-hour version that adds the Acropolis. Beyond them are the day trips: Delphi in 9 hours, Mycenae, Epidaurus and Nafplio in 10, Meteora in 14; the day-trips page compares them by the hours on the road and at the sites, and the private tours in Greece page adds Athens and Santorini days up over a longer stay. By request, a Jewish heritage morning takes the synagogues of Melidoni Street with the community’s own guide, the Holocaust Memorial by Kerameikos and the Jewish Museum of Greece’s collection, 17 min and 12 km from the cruise terminals to the first stop; the office quotes it.

Where does the driver meet us?

In the lobby of your Athens hotel at the agreed time. Cruise guests are met outside their ship’s terminal at the Piraeus cruise terminals, where the driver holds a sign with your name; from there the Acropolis is 19 min and 13.4 km without traffic, and the Piraeus page has the terminals, the gates and the tours that fit a call. At the airport the driver waits in the arrivals hall with the same sign.

When is the Acropolis open?

Every day of the year but six: 1 January, 25 March, 1 May, Easter Sunday, and 25 and 26 December. From April to the end of August the gates are open from 08:00 to 20:00; the closing time steps back through September and October, and from November to March the site closes at 17:00, with the last entry 20 minutes before closing. Admission is free on 6 March, 18 April, 18 May, the last weekend of September and 28 October, and on the first and third Sunday of each month in winter. The Acropolis page prints the full timetable and the fee with the date each was checked on the official ticket site.

How does a day in Athens work?

You send a request with the date, your group size and where you start; the office confirms by email and you pay the driver on the day. The order of the stops is agreed with the driver, who waits at each one and gives practical orientation on the road; guiding inside the sites is the licensed guide’s work, and the what-is-a-private-tour page explains the driver-led form of the thing. The drive times on every tour page are routed without traffic. Our Athens tours run with our own drivers and vehicles: a sedan for up to three, a minivan for four to seven, a minibus or a coach for larger groups, and for 8 to 50 guests the 8-hour group tour by coach is sold per person. Child seats cost nothing, a folding wheelchair fits in the boot, and cancellation is free until 72 hours before the start.

Can we change the route?

Within the hours you book, yes: add the Panathenaic Stadium, skip a museum, leave more time in Plaka. For a day that no page describes, the custom tour form takes your stops and hours and the office answers with a plan and its price.
