Private tours in Mykonos

ΜύκονοςMykonossaid “MEE-ko-nos”

Greece Private Tours runs two private tours on Mykonos with its own driver: a 4-hour half day through Mykonos Town, Ano Mera and Kalafatis beach, and a 5-hour island tour that adds Ornos bay on the way back. Both are priced per group, start at the cruise port or your hotel, and drive 42 and 51 minutes in all on routed roads.

What does a private tour in Mykonos cost?

Two tours, two ways of pricing, both per group and never per person. The 4-hour half day follows the standard 4-hour rate card: 300 EUR for up to three guests in a sedan and 400 EUR for four to seven in a minivan, which is 100 EUR a head for four. The 5-hour island tour has a rate of its own, confirmed by the office: 300 EUR for up to four guests, with a set addition per guest above that, so six pay 400 EUR in all and 67 EUR each. Neither tour prints a fee ticket: no official page states an entrance fee for the town, the village or the beaches. A swim, a table and a licensed guide, if you want one, are extra. The price guide has the whole rate card by hours and by party.

Driver or licensed guide on Mykonos?

On these two tours the question weighs less than at the Acropolis or Knossos: the stops are a town walked on foot, a village with its monastery and two beaches, with no archaeological site or museum on the route. Law 5121/2024 reserves guiding inside sites and museums to state-licensed guides; our driver drives, waits and gives practical orientation, and is never presented as a guide. Where the law does bite on Mykonos is Delos, the sanctuary island an hour away by boat, which is not part of a driver’s day. A licensed guide for the island or for the walk through the town is booked ahead on request and quoted with the day; the driver-or-guide guide sets the two roles side by side.

Four hours or five: what is the difference?

Ornos bay, and the minutes at each stop. The 4-hour tour gives Mykonos Town 90 minutes on foot, 8 min and 4.1 km from the new port, Ano Mera 35 minutes and Kalafatis beach 45, and drives 42 minutes in all with an 18-minute run back from the beach. The 5-hour tour stretches the town to 100 minutes, the village to 40 and the beach to 50, then comes back along the south of the island with 40 minutes at Ornos bay, 9 minutes from the port, 51 minutes of driving in all. Each page shows its route strip with the legs routed on OpenStreetMap without traffic and the minutes planned at every stop, and the day builder rearranges the same stops in any order you like.

Where does the driver meet us?

For a ship: where you come ashore. Mykonos is a tender port with two landings, the Old Port in the town and the New Port at Tourlos, 3.5 km north of it, and one long berth at the New Port; the port’s schedule names neither, so we go by your ship’s programme and the driver holds a name sign at the landing it gives. For a hotel: at the door, anywhere on the island, with the first leg following the address; for the 5-hour tour also at the airport’s arrivals exit. The cruise port page carries the port’s facts with their sources and dates, the legs from the New Port to the town, to Ano Mera and to Ornos, and the length of call each tour needs.

Can the driver take us to Delos?

No: Delos is an island, reached by boat, and the daily boats sail from the ports of Mykonos, as the port’s profile notes. We run no boat and name no boat operator. For a visit on your own, the Ministry’s portal gives the facts: 20 EUR (checked 14 Oct 2026, hh.gr) for the site and its museum, 10 EUR (checked 14 Oct 2026, hh.gr) reduced, about an hour by boat from Mykonos, open daily from April to the end of November with the last admission 20 minutes before closing, closed from 1 December to 31 March and on the public holidays the portal lists, and free on the days every state site is free. The hours by period are on the cruise port page. A Delos morning and an afternoon with the driver fit one day; ask, and the office works out the hours.

What changes with the season?

The ships and Delos, mostly. The Port Fund’s 2026 schedule runs from 26 March to 23 November, with the busiest months from May to October; a guest in a hotel who wants the town quiet can pick a day without a ship from that file, which the Fund calls indicative and replaces during the season. Delos is closed from December to March and shortens its afternoons in steps through the autumn. The two tours run all year on request, the beach stops being a walk by the water in winter rather than a swim. Below, month by month: the climate normals of the Mykonos station of the Hellenic National Meteorological Service and the sunset on the 15th.

How does a day with us work?

You send a date, a party and where you start; the site takes no payment. The office confirms by email and you pay the driver on the day. At the hour agreed the vehicle is at the landing, the hotel door or the arrivals exit; the order of the stops is yours to change on the road, and the old town, closed to cars, is walked while the driver waits with the vehicle at its edge. The party sets the vehicle: a sedan to three, a minivan to seven, a minibus or a coach above that, with a child seat on request at no charge; the 5-hour tour’s own rate is for up to four guests, with the addition per guest above. A booking cancels free of charge up to 72 hours before the start. Greece Private Tours has run private days since 1995; what a private tour is has a page of its own.

Can we change the stops?

Yes, inside the hours you book: a beach of your choosing on the south coast instead of Kalafatis, Ornos left out for a longer town, the village first and the town last. Say what you want in the request or to the driver on the day, and the minutes move with it. For a different day altogether, the custom tour form takes any list of stops and a number of hours and the office answers with a day and its price from the same rate card, and a cruise guest with more than one of our ports on the itinerary can ask for one plan for every call.
