Plan around your ship

Type the two times from your ship's daily programme. The list keeps the 90-minute margin before all-aboard and prints what is left to spare.

Your ship's programme has the times that count. The port publishes its own list of calls: Cruise schedule of the Municipal Port Fund of Mykonos, an Excel file the Fund calls indicative and replaces during the season (mykonosports.gr, checked 14 Oct 2026).

Port logistics

Where ships land

  • Two ports in operation: the Old Port in Mykonos Town and the New Port 3.5 km north at Tourlos, both under approved security plans (ISPS); the New Port's fourth phase builds its cruise and commercial terminals, and the daily boats to Delos sail from the ports (the port's profile on the Hellenic Ports Association's cruise portal)
  • Nine anchorages, seven landing at the Old Port and two at the New Port, each with ship's tenders allowed and port tenders compulsory, 11 port tenders available; the anchorage 0.7 nautical miles from the closest terminal and compulsory; three quays of 600 m in all with 10.5 m of water, the longest berth 348 m at the New Port, ships up to 330 m long and 10 m of draught; no passenger terminal building, a transportable construction for port services at the New Port (the port's characteristics page on the same portal)
  • Clearance of 30 to 60 minutes for a Schengen call and the same for one from outside, passengers ashore with the ship's ID; at the New Port quay shuttle services, taxis, a bus and parking for cruise passengers with the coaches 12 m from the quay, at the Old Port shuttles, taxis and no parking; 722,517 cruise passengers a year (the same characteristics page)
  • Cruise fee per passenger landing at Mykonos: 20 euros from 1 June to 30 September, 12 euros in April, May and October, 4 euros from November to March; the cruise line pays it to the State, nothing is paid at the quay (Law 5162/2024, article 27, which names Mykonos and Santorini)

Is Mykonos a tender port, and where do the ships dock?

The port’s own figures answer it: nine anchorages against one berth long enough for a cruise ship. The characteristics page on the Hellenic Ports Association’s cruise portal lists nine anchorages off Mykonos, each with port tenders compulsory and eleven of them in service; seven land their passengers at the Old Port in Mykonos Town, two at the New Port at Tourlos, which the port’s profile puts 3.5 km north of the town. The same page gives the New Port three quays of 600 metres in all, the longest berth 348 metres with 10 metres of water, and sets the ships’ limit at 330 metres, so a berth alongside exists. Which ship gets it the port does not say: the Municipal Port Fund’s schedule, 635 calls between 26 March and 23 November 2026 by 90 ships, names the arrival and departure times and no berth or anchorage. Your ship’s own programme is the word on your call, and the ticket above prints each fact with the date we read it.

How far is the cruise port from Mykonos Town?

From the New Port, 7 min and 4 km by road without traffic, routed on OpenStreetMap from the quay at Tourlos to the windmills. From the Old Port there is no drive at all: the tender lands you in the town itself. No official page gives a walking time between the two ports or a timetable for the sea bus the forum threads mention, so none is printed here; the characteristics page lists shuttle services, taxis and a bus at the New Port quay, and shuttles and taxis at the Old Port, without hours or fares. Further afield, Ano Mera is 12 min and 9 km from the New Port and Ornos bay 8 min and 6 km.

Where does the driver wait?

Where you step off the tender or the gangway, with your name on a sign. At the New Port that is the quay at Tourlos, where the characteristics page puts the coaches 12 metres from the quay and parking for cruise passengers; at the Old Port it is the landing in the town, where taxis and shuttles wait and no parking is listed, so the driver stands at the landing and walks you to the vehicle. The port has no passenger terminal building, by the same page: a transportable construction provides the port services, and the Port Fund lists lighting, WC, passenger waiting shelters and free Wi-Fi at its ports. Tell us the ship’s name and its times when you book; a landing changed on the day is one message to the driver, whose phone and WhatsApp are on your confirmation.

When should we leave the ship?

As soon as your tender group is called, or the ship is cleared if it berths. The characteristics page puts the clearance at 30 to 60 minutes whether the call comes from inside the Schengen area or from outside it, with passengers going ashore on the ship’s ID; the tender adds its own time, and the queue for the boats is the ship’s to run, not ours. The driver is at the landing from the hour you give us and waits. Our day ends 90 minutes before all-aboard, and the booking form refuses a tour that does not fit between the ship’s arrival and that margin. On a tendered call the last tender back, printed in the ship’s daily programme, is the deadline that matters: give us that time if it differs from the sailing time.

Which tours fit our port call?

Each card above prints the call its tour needs, the hours sold plus the margin. The 4-hour tour needs five and a half hours in port: Mykonos Town on foot for 90 minutes, Ano Mera and its monastery, Kalafatis beach on the east side, 42 minutes of driving in all. The 5-hour tour needs six and a half and adds Ornos bay on the way back, 51 minutes of driving. A shorter call, or a ship that lands you late in the morning: the custom tour form takes your hours and your stops, and the day builder sets the same four Mykonos stops in any order with the routed legs between them.

What does a private excursion cost per person?

The price is for the vehicle, so it depends on how many of you share it. On the 4-hour tour four guests pay 100 EUR a head and six pay 67 EUR. The 5-hour tour has a rate of its own that covers up to four guests, 75 EUR each for four, and adds a set figure per guest above that, so six pay 67 EUR each. Neither tour prints a fee ticket, because no official page states an entrance fee at the town, the village or the beaches; what you eat and drink, and a licensed guide if you ask for one, are extra. Your ship also pays the State a cruise fee for every passenger it lands at Mykonos, highest from June to September; the line pays it, nothing is paid at the quay, and the ticket above gives the figures from the law.

Can we go to Delos from the cruise port?

Only by boat, and not with us: a driver’s day stays on Mykonos, and the daily boats to Delos sail from the island’s ports, as the port’s profile notes. What we can give you is the Ministry’s facts for a visit on your own. The ticket for the site and its museum is 20 EUR (checked 14 Oct 2026, hh.gr), the reduced one 10 EUR (checked 14 Oct 2026, hh.gr); the portal counts about an hour by boat from Mykonos, lists a shop and a WC on the island, admits nobody in the last 20 minutes, and closes the island from 1 December to 31 March. The hours by period, as the portal prints them:

  • 1 Apr to 31 Aug: 08:00 to 20:00, last entry 19:40
  • 1 Sep to 15 Sep: 08:00 to 19:30, last entry 19:10
  • 16 Sep to 30 Sep: 08:00 to 19:00, last entry 18:40
  • 1 Oct to 15 Oct: 08:00 to 18:30, last entry 18:10
  • 16 Oct to 31 Oct: 08:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:40
  • 1 Nov to 30 Nov: 08:00 to 16:00, last entry 15:40

Checked 14 Oct 2026, hh.gr.

A Delos morning and a half day with the driver can share one call when the ship’s hours allow it; say so in the request and the office tells you whether both fit before the margin.

What if we are late for the ship?

The plan is built so that it does not happen: a margin before all-aboard that the form enforces, the last stop of each tour a short drive from the New Port (18 minutes from Kalafatis on the 4-hour tour, 9 from Ornos on the 5-hour), and a driver who shortens a beach rather than the margin. A tender port adds a rule of its own: the last tender, not the sailing time, is the deadline, and the day is planned to it. We do not promise the return to the ship; we promise the plan above and a phone that is answered. If the ship changes its landing or its times, write as soon as you know.

Can we see Mykonos on our own while the ship is tendered?

From the Old Port, yes, on foot: the tender lands in the town, and the windmills and Little Venice are a walk through lanes closed to cars. From the New Port the town is 7 min by road, and the quay has taxis, a bus and shuttle services by the characteristics page, with no fares or hours stated. A private vehicle earns its price when you want the island beyond the town in one call, Ano Mera, the east-side beach, Ornos, with the clock kept against the last tender; the Mykonos page compares the two tours, and the driver-or-guide guide says who may guide where.

Where we meet you

Νέος Λιμένας ΜυκόνουMykonos new port

Your driver waits where you come ashore, with a sign with your name: at the New Port at Tourlos when your ship berths there or its tenders land there, at the Old Port in Mykonos Town when they land in town. Give us the ship's name and its times when you book; the Port Fund's schedule names neither berth nor anchorage, so we go by your ship's own programme, and the driver's phone and WhatsApp are on your confirmation.
