Shore excursions from Corfu

ΚέρκυραCorfusaid “KER-kee-ra”cruise port

Cruise ships berth alongside at Corfu: the port's quays of 120 to 430 metres take up to seven ships at once, with two passenger terminals. Your Greece Private Tours driver waits at the terminal exit with a name sign; the three shore excursions last 4, 5 and 8 hours, are priced per group and end 90 minutes before all-aboard, as every card prints.

Plan around your ship

Type the two times from your ship's daily programme. The list keeps the 90-minute margin before all-aboard and prints what is left to spare.

Your ship's programme has the times that count. The port publishes its own list of calls: Cruise ship calls at Corfu by year, published by the Corfu Port Authority as one programme per year (corfuport.gr, checked 14 Oct 2026).

Port logistics

Where ships land

  • 500 cruise-ship calls were announced for 2026, and the Port Authority hands cruise passengers a free tourist guide of the town and the island with maps (150,000 copies)
  • Quays of 120 to 430 m with a draught of up to 11 m, room for seven cruise ships at once, and two passenger terminals fitted out as cruise terminals (the port's profile on the Hellenic Ports Association's cruise portal)
  • The quays are the port's controlled area under the ISPS code: persons and vehicles enter it by application to the Port Authority (its Buspass portal)
  • A taxi office is housed in the port

Where do cruise ships dock in Corfu, and is it a tender port?

Alongside the quay. The port’s own profile on the Hellenic Ports Association’s cruise portal lists quays of 120 to 430 metres with a draught of up to 11 metres, room for seven cruise ships at once, and two passenger terminals fitted out as cruise terminals; the ticket above prints the facts with the date we read them. What the port’s pages do not say is what happens on a day when more ships call than the quays hold, so we do not print “never a tender”: your ship’s own programme says dock or tender for its call, and we plan from that. Give us the ship’s name and its times when you book.

How far is the Old Town from the cruise terminal?

4 min and 3 km by road without traffic, routed on OpenStreetMap from the terminal to the Spianada, and 9 min and 6 km to the Kanoni viewpoint. No official page gives the walking time from the terminals to the town, so we print none; the Port Authority hands cruise passengers a free guide to the town and the island with maps, 150,000 copies for 2026, and a taxi office is housed in the port. On every tour of ours the Old Town is the last stop, so the day ends a few minutes from the ship.

Where does the driver wait?

At the passengers’ exit of your ship’s terminal, holding a sign with your name. The quays are the port’s controlled area under the ISPS code, and a vehicle enters it only with a pass from the Port Authority, so look for the driver where passengers come out, not beside the ship. The port has two passenger terminals and assigns the berth for each call; with the ship’s name we know which exit to stand at, and if the berth changes on the day, one message on WhatsApp moves the driver.

When should we leave the ship?

As soon as the ship is cleared: there is no tender queue to allow for, and the driver is at the terminal from the time we agree. Every day we plan ends 90 minutes before your all-aboard time, and the Old Town, the last stop of each tour, is 4 min from the terminal, so the last leg is short. The booking form asks for the ship’s arrival and all-aboard times and refuses a tour that does not fit between them with that margin.

Which tours fit our port call?

Add 90 minutes to a tour’s hours and you have the call it needs; each card above prints it. A call of five and a half hours takes the 4-hour tour to Paleokastritsa, Kanoni and the Old Town; six and a half hours take the 5-hour tour, which reaches the Achilleion 13 min and 10.3 km from the port and spends almost two hours in the Old Town; a long call of nine and a half hours opens the full day with a swim and lunch at Paleokastritsa. On a shorter call, or for your own stops, the custom tour form prices the hours you have from the same rate card.

What does a private excursion cost per person?

The price is per vehicle, so the share falls as the party grows: four guests on the 4-hour tour pay 100 EUR each and six pay 67 EUR each; four guests on the 5-hour tour pay 125 EUR each. From eight guests the rate is per person in a minibus. Not in the price and paid at the gate: the Achilleion’s admission, 7 EUR (checked 14 Oct 2026, achillion-corfu.gr), and the Old Fortress’s ticket, 10 EUR (checked 14 Oct 2026, hh.gr), if you go in; lunch and a licensed guide are extra too.

What if we are late for the ship?

The plan is built so that you are not: a margin before all-aboard, the Old Town kept as the last stop a few minutes from the quay, and a driver who watches the clock with you and shortens the last stop rather than the margin. We cannot hold a ship and do not promise the return to it; what we promise is this plan and a phone that is answered. If your ship tenders after all, or the berth moves, write to us as soon as the ship announces it.

Can we see Corfu on our own from the port?

Yes, and we say so: the Old Town is 3 km by road, the port gives every cruise passenger a free map, and a taxi office stands in the port. A private tour earns its price when you want Paleokastritsa, the Achilleion or Kanoni as well as the town in one call, with the vehicle waiting at each stop and the day timed to the ship; the Corfu page compares the three tours, and the driver-or-guide guide explains who may guide inside the palace.
